THORNVILLE - Drew Campbell was dominant on the mound, and the Sheridan bats provided plenty of support on Thursday.

Campbell tossed a two-hitter and the top-seeded Generals pounded out 12 hits in an 11-1 six-inning mercy of fifth seed Greenfield McClain in the Division II sectional final.

Sheridan (22-5) takes on second seed Athens in a district semifinal at 5 p.m. Monday at Ohio University's Bob Wren Stadium.

Ethan Malone led the Sheridan offense with a double, two singles and five RBIs, as his two-run double ended the mercy in the sixth.

Reece Trowbridge added two singles, Zack Wright contributed two singles and a RBI, Logan Farmer had a two-run single in the five-run sixth and added a RBI sac fly, and Jesse Gillenwater doubled to open the sixth.

Campbell had plenty of early support with Sheridan scoring two runs in each of the first two innings. He finished with seven strikeouts and no walks in the victory.

Brian Radcliffe went the distance in the loss, allowing 11 runs, eight earned, on 12 hits with one strikeout and one walk, Jesse Booth had a RBI groundout in the second and Jason Banks and Nathan Faulconer had singles for McClain (12-10).
